On Friday November 14, Made From Pixels set up shop at the second annual Night Market Loft Party of 2014 presented by Big Brothers Big Sisters of NYC Asian Mentoring Committee. The goal of the annual event was to expand the reach of their New American Program, which provides mentors to children that have immigrated to the US, so they have the support to overcome the obstacles they face while adjusting to a new culture, language and customs. It’s an amazing cause, one that screams “we welcome and embrace you”, so that these impressionable, young children can integrate into society and make the most of the opportunities that are presented to them.
We were excited about our first Made From Pixels’ outing in NYC (Soho, Mercer Lofts) and a charitable one at that! The night promised great food, networking, goodwill and entertainment for a good cause, and it delivered! We had our own table, complete with a big background banner and mini display stands, where we proudly showcased our photo-book and Movie Shorts services. Many guests stopped by to learn about our company and services, including how our young business was formed and to wish us success and growth.
The great thing about the night was that it wasn’t all work, there was plenty of play. Guests and vendors had access to free food and drinks from 8-11pm. The list of food vendors was impressive, we sampled sushi from Hakata Grill, beef from Fat Buddha, bulgogi kimchi ramen from Mŏkbar, long bean kimchi salad from Dassara Brooklyn Ramen, samosas from Salaam Bombay, chocolate ice cream from Project Ice Dream, luxury gelée desserts from Tasty Theatre, macarons from Oizumi Macarons and many more tasty treats. Not only was the food and open bar plentiful, there was also a DJ, dance floor, chill-out lounge, live entertainment, a fun photo-booth and a fantastic raffle. Made From Pixels was more than happy to donate a “Movie Short - Single” gift certificate (value of $249) to the night’s raffle to help raise money for the Big Brothers Big Sisters of NYC Asian Mentoring Committee.
